Gridlines In Tables

How can I remove gridlines in a table when view in Page Layout -
unfortunately the hide gridlines option does not work even when highlighting
the whole table. The only way to view without gridlines currently is in
print preview.

On the View tab of Tools | Options, clear the box for "Text boundaries."
This will affect more than just tables, though.
