Gridlines not synchronized horizontally with text

Hi, I'm a beginner to Excel. I have a simple .XLS file of 25 rows one
column of which sometimes has several lines of word-wrapped text.
Everything looks fine onscreen, and even in Print Preview, but when I
print the text spills horizontally over the gridlines to the row below,
so the text of what should be one cell spills out onto the cell below.
Any thoughts what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.
