Gridlines

I have Windows 98 with Word 2000 installed. However,
everytime I start Word 2000 I am presented with a blank
page with Gridlines already showing.

I have tried clicking on Hide Gridlines within the Table
menu, but this has no effect.

Any ideas anyone ?

On the Drawing toolbar, click Draw, and point to Grid. Clear the check
box that says "Display gridlines on screen", and then click OK. (To
display the Drawing toolbar, you can use View > Toolbars.)
