Groove 2007 beta and Vista

J

JB

Installed the pre-RC1 and Office Beta 2 last week. All works really well, and
besides all the negativity out there on newsgroups and in the press, I think
Vista and Office are looking great. I own a Mac as well, and honestly don't
see what all the OS X fuss is all about. I've had apps crash on Mac as
well... Happens...

Anyway... my question... has anyone tried running Groove on Vista? I have
serious rendering issues, where the folder icons within Groove seem to have
the wrong bitmap, also the calendering tool doesn't show appointments and
even crashes Groove when trying to add new appointments.

Just wondering if I'm alone or whether this is a known issue that's being
worked on.

Thanks,

JB

I have been running groove in Vista and not experienced any issues, it works
a real treat. the only think I would suggest is that you have a minimum of
1gig if not 2 gig in the computer. That is with using Vista

Hi,

Groove not support Vista platform yet. However, you can try installing
Groove on vista like which Marc doing. In most cases, it can work but with a
little errors.

Dear JB,

Based on my experience, I want to confirm that which version of Vista and
Groove 2007 did you use on your machine.

Please understand that since both of these two products are the bata version
which are being tested up to now. So there may some aspects are not correct.
From my research, Groove 2007 B2TR and Windows Vista RC1 can be used well
together.

I hope you can check them.

Best regards,

Gell -

I realize both are beta and am not complaining as such, but obviously Office
2007 will have to run with Vista eventually (soon hopefully!) and that why
I'm posting my problem here so that it's out in the open and can be
investigated.

My Vista is build 5536 - which was the pre-RC1, and Groove is whatever the
Beta 2 version was (4.2.0.2554).

My machine has a 4.9 experience index and runs and AMD 64 X2 4200+ and has
2GB of memory. No exotic hardware running, and the machine is prety clean -
basically Vista, Office 2007 and Adobe CS2.

I tried switching back to Classic mode from Aero, but that didn't seem to
change it.
