Groove 2007 cannot open Excel 2007 files

Don

When I open up a Groove 2007 workspace (both File Sharing and Standard) and
then double-click to open an Excel file, I get the message:

"Windows cannot find 'C:\xxx\xxxxx\somefile.xls'. Make sure you typed the
name correctly, and then try again."

Can anyone tell me what is happening here and how it can be fixed? Thanks.

Hi Don,

Some questions on this:
1. Do you have Excel installed on the computer having the problem?
2. Does this happen with any other file?
3. Can you open up Excel files outside of Groove workspaces?
Because you are having the problem in Groove file sharing Workspacs – which
are just folders in your directory, my suspicion is that the problem lies
with Excel. You may want to try running a repair of Office to see if that
resolves the problem.

Gregg, thanks for your reply. After about 2 hours of searching, I found the
following before you posted a reply and it fixed the problem:
1. In Microsoft Office Excel 2007, click the Microsoft Office Button, and
then click Excel Options.
2. Click Advanced, scroll down to the General bar and underneath, click to
clear the checkmark from the Ignore other applications that use DDE check
box.
3. Click OK.
