I followed the instructions, and migrated my old groove account, etc, etc...
on installing Groove2007 one of the UNWANTED by products was my MSworks
applications no-longer works ....
The procedure entry point ############# could not be located in the dynamic
link library WkWbl.dll
This is the same for the word processor, and the database etc... it was
perfect before the install.

I went to reinstall MSworks, trusting this would solve the matter... so I
could access my clients work... NADA, no reinstall appears to put matters
right. So what about it???? This has now turned out to be a sour
experience... I have resorted to opensource software to get my documents
open!!! Doesn't figure!! Now I am thinking....ditch the experience, unless I
can get some help? Any thoughts please ....

Hi,

This is an unexpected situation. Could you uninstall Groove 2007 first, then
to see if Msworks can run or re-install.

That has been done, NADA, so I am not sure what is still causing the
problem... there should be a simple way to contact Microsoft to get help or
at least from groove.net - Thankyou all for not giving a bleeding whoot about
those BRAVE enough to test the Beta.... both sites have irresponsibly left
us all high and dry! I have reverted to my other computer for the meantime -
frankly I heading for a complete HD Format to flush out whatever is being
left behind on the uninstall to clear this up !!!!! NOT A HAPPY PUNTER !!!
try again.... I wan't expecting this....

What I also forgot to add is that there is no ability to uninstall the
software... all that functionality appears to have vaporised.... I am very
very ###ked off with the shear waste of time this is causing.... !! Go test
it more before MS launch people into such a mess.... I wouldn't dare release
a beta where the wheels fall off my clients would run a mile... this is
fundamental stuff!!!! I fear this was - loosley tested before releasing....
my next step - FOMAT THE HD!!!!

While I sympathize with your predicament, it seems that you chose to
ignore the warnings on the download page:

http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/beta/getthebeta.mspx

Specifically:

* This beta testing release is not appropriate for production use.

MSWorks is a cut-down version of MS Office, yes? What happens if you
install the full MSOffice 2007 beta. Does that read your documents?
Now I am thinking....ditch the experience, unless I
can get some help? Any thoughts please ....

You are correct of course, the warning was there, and yes that is the risk,
unfortunately I also have the uninstall facility missing from the control
panel- so it looks pretty grim on the 1st install... all I can do is chuckle
at the pending format about to happen!

I didn't really choose to ignore the warning - I suppose it's actually just
being de-sensatised to it, it's hard to lean under the hood to check if the
motor is all there! There is always some leap of faith required- even with a
raft of disclaimers... maybe Beta should come in grades ... as a better guage
of just how far one jumps.... on the first take!

And thank you for the advice, I do has a MSoffice beta disk on the way...
