Groove 2007 Manage Server Repair Process Looking for SharePoint Wi

I just completed a fresh installaion of Groove 2007 Manager and I get the
following message upon completion:

Microsoft Office Groove Server 2007 Manager configuration has completed
successfully.
You will need to run SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration
Wizard to complete comfiguration. Click Close and run SharePoint Products
and Technologies Wizard from the Start menu.

This is a fresh Windows 2003 installation - there is no SharePoint installed
and there is no SharePoint Products and Technologies Wizard in the Start
menu. Also, I cannot bring up the Groove Management console although the
Groove installation indicated that it completed successfully. The browser
spins for about 5 minutes trying to connect and just times out. Has anyone
seen this? >>

Hi Ed,

I remember seeing that message from installing the beta groove Server code -
a lot of the install wizard screens mentioned Sharepoint at that stage. I
assumed the groove team must have used the same InstallShield template that
had been used for Sharepoint and dismissed it as an oversight.

Are you sure you have the shipping version of the Groove Server code? the
setup exe file shoul be dated 29th Oct 2006 ...

It's possible you have hit a snag which throws up one of the sharepoint
messages they missed?

Have you worked through the pre-installation worksheet to make sure you have
all the pre-requisites in place? E.g. ASP.Net installed, ASP allowed in IIS,
ASPNET registered? ...and of course, SQL server details with "create
permissions" for your login ?

Hope this helps,

regards,
