Groove and 64 bit XP/Vista

I'm currently using Foldershare but have just deployed Office 2007
Ultimate on all the computers in our network, so I'd like to try out
Groove instead.

I understand that Groove doesn't completely work on 64 bit operating
systems. File sharing workspaces are not supported on these machines,
although Foldershare (also by Microsoft, not quite as powerful but at
least its free) doesn't have any such problems.

First of all, what use is Groove if you can't use file sharing
workspaces? I mean, that's like using Excel with cell formulas
disabled isn't it, or Word if it gave an error message any time you
use a word with a vowel in it. Am I missing some really nifty grand
purpose to Groove beside the file sharing workspaces feature which
seems to me to be the primary function of Groove?

The 64 bit machine is actually my main machine which I do most of my
work on. It is usually the computer which I'm modifying the files I
want synced with other folders. If I can use Groove on every machine
except that one then Groove is really no use to me at all.

Has MS ever come out with any estimates on when/if they will fix this
gap?'

Under these circumstances is there any reason why I would want to use
Groove, or should I stick with Foldershare?
