Groove captures keystrokes?

I'm working with deploying Cisco Security Agent, which monitors host
activities, on my company's computers. The Agent is flagging Mircosoft
Groove because upon opening, it attempts to capture keystrokes. I decided to
deny access to capture keystrokes. As a result, Microsoft Office Groove
crashes upon loading.

I thought maybe the keystroke capture had to do with the username and
password, so I saved the password. However, the same problem still occurs.

My question is why would Groove attempt to capture keystrokes? Is this just
something in the Beta test or is there a specific reason for the capture?

Hi Joseph.

There is a specific reason Groove installs a keyboard intercept.

If you press shift twice in quick succession (whatever you are doing),
Groove will pop up a dialog for you to send an instant message.

I'd prefer this to be an optional feature but it ain't.

Thanks for the reply...I just don't understand why blocking the attempt to
capture that double shift would cause Groove to crash. I guess for our
deployment, we can allow Groove to capture keystrokes.
