Groove for Mac

I'm using Office 2004 and looking forward to Office 2008. The problem
I have is I run Windows in Parallels for one applicaiton - Groove. I
haven't seen anything about this and I doubt I'll get any meaningful
response, but does anyone know if there is any chance that there will
be a Groove client for OS X?

Thanks.

I wouldn't rule it out, but I'd less likely hold my breath :)

What did they say when you emailed them?

I never received a response from Microsoft. I've emailed them (mac
group and office group) several times but never received any response
from a person. Bob's response is what I was expecting, but I was
hoping for more. We may end up switching to something else if there
is no OS X version of Groove on the horizon. Thanks for reading.

You didn't send an email through the Groove site?

Hi Dean,

A portion of the capabilities of Groove are provided in Office on the Mac
via the Project Center.

SharePoint and InfoPath integration is not provided.

Yes, I'm familiar with the feature in Office 2004, but I work with
many people using Windows and Groove 3.1. What I really need is the
file sync capability with Win Groove users. Those are the only
features I use. We may try to switch to a different solution and
abandon Groove. Another option may be that I write my own server
based solution using the Groove web services api, but it's not
something I really have time to do. I'd be happy to pay for a copy of
Groove for OS X.

Hi,

You are able to let the Groove folks know of your interest by posting your
feedback in the Groove newsgroup at microsoft.public.groove

They would probably like to know that there is an important market that is
being overlooked and that there is a ready, willing and able customer being
ignored.

Alternatively, you may consider solutions like
- Virtual PC for Mac www.microsoft.com
- Parallels Desktop for Mac www.parallels.com

.... for running Groove on your Macintosh.

Not an ideal solution, but it works :)
