Groove is bumbing my internet connection

I use Verizon wireless broadband for most of my internet connections. When
Groove is running, it seems to shut down my internet connection every three
minutes or so. When I right click the Groove icon and hit exit, the internet
connection will stay on indefinetely. What could be the problem?

I have spent hours on the phone with Verizon tech support and they confirmed
a software issue. This is a neat program and I would like to be able to use
it. Also, it seems that technical support, as I used to know it , no longer
exists on the microsoft site. What do I need to look for now? Do I need to
be looking for Groove support in India?

Hi Sparrow - I had a similar problem using both my Verizon and AT&T WAN
cards. The problem is the way Groove deals with their "enhanced performance"
drivers. I don't quite remember what they are called, but if you turn off
the card's acceleration, the problem goes away. And I didn't notice a
stitch of difference in my WAN performance after disabling this "feature".
Try it out and let us know if it works.
