Groove Phantom Upload

When I place a new file into a workspace Groove seems to upload the file - it
reports an upload roughly equal to the file size on the bottom right of the
launchbar. This upload takes place even if I’m the only user online. It
should be noted that I do not have a "groove account", if I had I would have
expected this behaviour when groove synced with server.

Given I’m the only user online and do not have a "groove account" who is
Groove uploading to and why?
