Groove running VERY slow. Meeting tomorrow! Please Help

I was just trying to edit some text inside the Meetings tool in Groove 3.1
and every 2nd keypress Groove displays the little icon that it is
communicating with the relay server (i think thats what the icon means) and
Groove becomes unresponsive. I have to wait about 1 minute and then i can
type in 2 more characters.

I am really worried because I have to conduct a meeting in Groove tomorrow
(1:30 pm MST) and Groove is acting like it is going to be unreliable.
Groove crapped out on me the last time I tried to have this meeting and I am
afraid if it does it again...the plug will be pulled on this application.

Since the last meeting, I made 5 GB of space on my Primary Logical hard
drive and added an additional 512 MB of memory which brings me to 1 GB of
avaialble memory. I am running a P4 3ghz on a T1 line within a small office
environment.

What kinds of things do I need to do to optimize Groove on my machine?...or
is this a relay server issue that I am going to have no control over?

I also wanted to add some details about my workspace:

while trying to edit content in my workspace I was the only person in the
Workspace with 7 of the people that i have previously invited to the
workspace in "Offline status".

I have 11 tools in my workspace including:

-Notepad
-Team Direction Project
- Discussion
-Meetings
- Document Review
- Issues
- Web Links
- Sketch Pad
- Contacts
- File Cabinet (with no files in it)
- Calendar

This is a very new workspace and so therefore is not very big. Almost all
of the tools have just had a little bit of content added to them. I can't
imagine that I could be taxing the Groove relay server...so why is Groove
running so slow?

Hi Gwilou -

Try defragmenting your PC.

Mark,

Yeah I did a defrag the last time my Groove meeting fell apart. I forgot to
mention that the last time I experienced performance issues with Groove I
spoke with William Aboujaoude. William suggested that I add more memory,
defrag and try to free up some hard drive space. I did all of those
suggestions.

What other things can be done to ensure optimal Groove performance?
Especially in a meeting when I have 6 or more people "Navigating Together".
Are there certain programs that are known to create Groove slowdowns if they
are running at the same time? Are there network configurations that can
optimize Groove? Is there an FAQ that just deals with optimizing Groove?

TIA

Dan
