"Groundhog Day" file: it keeps coming back!

I can't get rid of a document I created that includes a
clip imported from the web. When I try to open a new
document, the original file retrieves itself with a new
document number on it. I've rebooted and completely shut
down, but to no avail. How can I deal with this? I don't
want to lose the text of the file; I just want it to
disappear! Any thoughts?

Janet,

it sounds like you saved the document to the Normal.dot
template.

There are a few options for getting rid of it:

1. Navigate to Normal.dot and open it. Delete the content,
Save and Close.

2. Exit Word, locate Normal.dot and rename it (e.g.,
Normal.old). Then, open MS Word again and it will create a
new Normal.dot. Be careful when using this option, you
will lose your personal settings and they will be set to
default.

Hi

Are you sure that the document is coming back.

Maybe it is the day that is repeating itself again and again and again!!!
