Group AD Sync

Hi,

Along with using the Enterprise Resource Pool using AD sync, we are also
planning on using the Group AD Sync option. The issue is that these resources
do not show up for assignment. Is there a way to assign these resources to a
new project?

Thanks for your help.

My understanding is that firstly you need an overall group where all
resources are added. I think this is best as a local group. Next you need a
group for each role (Project Manager, Execs etc.). These need to be global
groups. If a group does not have any members, then AD sync for that group
fails but this is not a problem.

Use the overall master group in the Enterprise setup page (forget its proper
name). Do not re-use one of the other groups as this can cause partial
failure of AD sync for the re-used group.

match groups to Group names in the Groups page of users and groups.

To show up in projects for assignment, you need to place all names in the
Team member group as well. use build team from enterprise (Ctrl+T) in
Project Professional to display a list of these resources and add them to
your project ready for assignment.
