Group By Bars / Summary Bars - Always left of task Name Column

If I use the Group By: option, the grouping bars are placed directly to the
left of the "Name" column. If I hide the Name column, the summary task
remains visible, but the color is removed and the ability to expand/collapse
is also gone. Additionally, if I leave the Name column visible and add a new
column to its left, the group by bars are displayed in between the added
column and the Name column.

My question is... is there a way ensure the grouping bars are always
displayed to the left of the left most column regardless of what that column
is? It seems like the grouping bars are somehow attached to the Name column.
