group by month

i have a report which is based upon a query and two dates (start and end).
the report works fine.

what i would like to do is to duplicate the report but instead of between 2
dates i would like it to be grouped by month based upon a year selected by
the user.

any help would be appreciated. ps what would be even better is if someone
could tell me how to create a chart in a report.

Richard,
Use the Year(SomeDate) = the value you specify, and...
Group all the dates using the Month(SomeDate) value (1-12)
