Group by resource name

Hi All,
I want to create a project view such thai i can see the task grouped by
resources.
I know there is a default group for resource names available but i cannot
see the summary tasks in that case.
I have checked on the summary in the view options but still cant see it
Kindly suggest.

Manmeet,

Individual Resource name grouping works on Resource views, indicating that
you are looking at assignments, not tasks, hence you cannot see summary
tasks.

If you create a grouping on Resource Names in a task view, it will group by
the text contained in the resource Name column which is a concatenation of
all the resources seperated by commas, hence you will get groupings like
"Mary A", "Mary A, James M" etc...not much use. Again, summary tasks are not
available here, but can be if you use the 'Show summary task'
option...although this is kind of pointless unless you are trying to assign
resources at the summary task level.
