Group Filter Control limitation?

I have an Access 2002 project that uses SQL Server as
backend and data access pages as front end. I have group
filter controls on some of the DAPs to streamline
processing and make more user friendly. However, I've
noticed that on DAPs where more than 300 records are
needed for the grouping, the group filter control limits
this to 300. Anyone know anything about this limitation?
