Group outline and protecting worksheet

Is there a way around being able to lock down the work sheet and use the group outline?

In code you can enable the outlining before you protect the sheet, in
the following way:

This example enables outlining symbols on a protected worksheet.

ActiveSheet.EnableOutlining = True
ActiveSheet.Protect contents:=True, userInterfaceOnly:=True
