My excel won't group dates (by month, year, etc.) I do not need any updates. What do I need to change/add to get this feature to work? Thanks.

I suspect you are grouping a range that 'looks' like dates but is not
actually seen by Excel as such. (Blank cells, text formatted cells will all
stop this feature)
