Hello NG,
we currently deploy Office 2003 (SP2) via group policy and customized MST
file without any problems.
Today, i slipstreamed SP3 into a copy of the original image on a file
server. I have also customized the old MST file with the OCW (based on the
new .MSI file).
When deploying Office 2003 SP3 with the new created MST file (based on the
new .MSI) to a test machine (Win XP), i get errors when starting Excel
(p.e.): Excel tells me that it is not installed correctly.
If i manuallay start the Office setup (by clicking "change program"), i can
see that no component of Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, ...) is checked, they
all have the red X. Opening the MST in CIW again, i see that i have enabled
all components to be installed locally.
The eventlog tells me that Office 2003 SP3 was installed without any errors.
But after starting a component (in my test case Excel or Word), i get
messaged telling me that there are errors detecting Office components
(event: 1001, source: MsiInstaller).
Any ideas?
