Hi, I am farily new to project server but understand the basics of the setup.
My company setup project server for a specific client but now wants to use
it for all our clients. We are wanting to setup the server so that the
projects are group by the client companies that we are doing work. For
example when we go into project view we would like to see:

Company 1
Project 1
Project 2

Company 2
Project 1
Project 2

Any insite that anyone has on this request is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi
Open enterprise global template and create a new enterprise custom field at
project level name it company. make it mandatory for all projects to fill in
this field before publishing the project.

Now go to project web access- admin-manage view- new view.

In this new view add company as one of the fields. Now as you go below in
the add new view page you will see group by option. Select group by company.

Hope this helps. If you need step wise details on any of the above points do
let me know

In your situation, I would recommend that your Project Server administrator
create a custom enterprise Project outline code field called Client, and
populate the lookup table with the names of every client. I would also
recommend that he/she make this a Required field so that your PM's must
select a value in the Client field before they can save their project in
Project Server. Beyond this, he/she should also add the Client field to
each of your Project Center views so you can group on that field. Hope this
helps.

Thanks for you response. How do I make it a mandatory field for all projects?

Thanks in advance.

When you create the enterprise Project outline code, you will see an option
to make it a Required field. Hope this helps.
