on the help menu, when i look up how to group objects, it directs me to use the formatting palette, and then go to the drop down menu size, rotation and ordering, but this does not appear in the formatting palette. how do i group shapes?

The Group feature is not available unless you have 2 or more group-able
objects *selected*. Once you click on the first hold Shift while you click
the others or use the Select Objects tool on the Drawing Toolbar in order to
drag a selection marquee around the objects to be Grouped.

Once you select the objects you can also Control/Right-Click one of the to
access the Group command in the contextual menu.
