Grouping activities by type or function

SureTrak and Primivera allow the use of prefixes in the ID to differentiate
activities by type or trade. For example SBM-1000 would be a submittal
activitiy or SD-1000 would be a structural activity.
As such it is easy to sort to group activities of a particular function or
trade together in a report.

Also how do you differentiate a section or Building floor in Project.

Use one of the available fields to code each task with the correct floor -
example use text1 field and use it for the floors - you can have it be free
text or use a lookup value from a list you define.

Then go to the "project" menu and select "grouping". Use the field as the
field you want to group by.
Like primavera you can have multiple levels of grouping defined and you can
change from one to the other quite easily.
