Morning.

Can I determine that in all new documents by default in grouped columns
or rows the main row oder column is the above or the left row or column
but not the beneath row or the right column?

I think that's a correct assumption. Do you mean grouped columns and rows as
in an outline, or merged cells? You should be able to tell easily by
clicking in a cell and looking at the address in the formula bar.

As in a outline. -- I use a German system, so I'm not sure about the
English names of the menue items. In the preferences dialogue of
»Grouping/Outline« by default two checkoxes are checked. But I would
need that by default these checkboxes were *not* be checked.

I'm not sure that these defaults can be changed. You can however, do this in
code.
