Grouping Objects

Okay, I'm stumped. I have a .TIFF file (graphic). I want
to put a text box on top of the graphic. This is for a
restaurant and we want to be able to give them a Word
document so that they can open it and edit the text box
(change weekly specials, etc.) The problem is that I
cannot group the graphic and the text box (the option is
not available in this instance). I need to make sure
these people cannot scoot the text box all around.
Help!?

I even tried pasting everything into PowerPoint, linking
the object and text box, and pasting it back into Word,
but the object become ungrouped again when I do that.

I tried this in Word 2000 -- and it worked just fine.

I changed the layout of the tiff to square (instead of the default in line
with text option). Then added the text box over it. Selected both and
grouped. I could still modify the text -- but the text box was locked into
position.

What version of Word are you using? Give us a step-by-step detail of your
process.... and maybe we can figure it out.

Would it perhaps be more feasible to insert the graphic as a watermark
(anchored to the header, Behind Text) and then use plain text (or a text box
or frame) on top of it?

There's an easier way; insert tiff, set it to be over
text, you can now draw anything over it, including text
boxes, and group them together. Make the text box large
enough for whatever text their likely to want because if
it resizes itself around the text it may distort the
graphic.
