Growing Normal.dot

Hi

Can anyone throw light on this one. I am using Word 2000 under Windows 98
and find that my Normal.dot keeps growing, even though I am adding nothing
to it. Every 6-9 months its size passes 331k and Word hangs. I then
replace this overbloated Normal.dot with an original copy that I have learnt
to keep safe in another folder, and all is well again.

Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know why it happens? Is
there anything I can do to prevent it?
