Guest Book Format

I'm looking after a web site. The guest book is working okay, but I
unsuccessfully tried different ways to format the added comments. I want to
change fonts. I formatted all the text boxes and the changes are visible only
when the visitor is typing his info but not after this is added to the guest
book. I want also to delete the "Remote user" tag and align the labels (Name:
-----, Email :-----) with text. I searched the codes of the guestbook.htm
file, but did not find it. I will appreciate any help. Thanks,

You have to apply a theme in order to control formatting.

Thanks for your quickly answer. I tried to apply a theme but it works for the
whole page and I want it to be applied to the form (guest book) only. The
page has common bordes which format I don't want to change. Thanks,

Correct, theme are applied to the entire page. However that is really the only option you have
available to control formatting of the guest book and discussion web components.

Unless of course you create a subweb yeh?

I applied the theme to the whole page and created hyperlinks for both the
"sign page" and "view guestbook page" in such a way that I did not affect the
format of the other pages in the structure of the web site. But still I can
change the format if I don't work on the codes of the page. Thanks, Albert

I followed your advice and applied a theme "Guest Book" to both the guestbook
and guestlog files. Nevertheless, I can't format the fields of the form. If
you have practice using this method could you give me more details. Thanks,
Albert

I'm looking the solution in that direction also. I created a database but I
can't make it work alone; and how can I link it with the other web site when
each one of them has its own home page. I'm using Steve Johnson's "Show Me
FrontPage 2003" and there is not mention about the sub option. Thanks, Albert

Basically you are limited on what you can do with the Guestbook component, the only formatting is
via applying a theme then the guest book will use the format of the theme.

You can not modify the webbot code.

I had already set up a database/subweb but when I send the info from the
guestbook/form to the database I most save the form/gestbook with the
extension ".asp." After I do that there is not way that I can preview the
form anymore. I can only log on to the script of the page. The database has a
table and a report (which is the final guestbook that has the format I want)
and I linked the form/guestbook with the table but it does not work. The
form/guestbook does not feed the database table but print the data on the
white space out of the table. Do you have idea how can I solve this problem?
Thanks, Albert

Suggest your search for an ASP based guest book application or you will need to hand code a custom
one, since you can not use the FP Guest Book with ASP.
