Guest Book not posting?

S

synergy46

I made a site and included a guest book. Everything worked well. 2 weeks
later I notice that entries made are emailed to me correctly but they do not
show up in the GuestLog.htm file and DONOT get posted to the guestbook page.

I have: Deleted and recreated the guestbook to no avail. I have deleted
the guestlog.htm and guestbook.thm and recreated with no avail.

(I suspect the problem comes about from publishing my total site and
overwriting the original files. But, if this was the case, I should be able
to delete the offending files and recreate the guest book???
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Help is very appreciated.

Open the remote web ( the one on the server ) and recalculate hyperlinks.
Close the remote web and open the local web and recalculate hyperlinks.
When it is done, click File > Publish web and let it delete files when you are prompted.

Steve, I did as you indicated but after I did, i opened my browser (IE6),
went to the site, made a guest book entry, clicked "submit" and was taken to
another page that indicated ---
FrontPage Error.
User: please report details to this site's webmaster.
Webmaster: please see the server's application event log for more details.

Latest attempt: I deleted, on the server and locally guestbook.htm and
guestlog.htm. Next I recreated guestbook.htm locally and published it.
I went to the URL and sure enough there was the guest book. I type in some
text and it takes me to the confirmation page. (no error message as before).

BUT, it still doesn't copy guestlog.htm to the bottom or guestbook.htm ???
(Yes, I hit REFRESH to see it and isn't there??? )

Any suggestions? Thanks for reading and taking the time to write.

Post URL of the page
- make sure guestlog.htm is in the _private folder (which has write permissions) and the include page below the guest post form is
pointing to it
