The built in form handler cannot do this. Which is a good
thing...
Guest books are frequently targets for spam. It is not so
much to clog your guestbook, but they put links in it aiming
back at their sites. When Google etc come by you are now
linking to them, so they get even more business. Throw your
email address in there and now its in your email box
When I first set up my guestbook, the FP extensions were not
100% on my site, and I was fresh in web design. What I ended
up doing was using a form to feed into a database, and to
display the posts I used a database results page. Worked
fine. And then some spam came, along with some inappropriate
posts
I by then had learned some coding, and I wrote an asp page
which sent the submission to me, and then I would approve or
disapprove and submit it to the db. Worked fine for awhile,
and I picked out a handful of bad posts weekly
And then BAMM. Now people were building search engines that
looked for guestbooks. All of the sudden I was getting
hundreds of entries daily. I threw in a primitive version of
CAPTHA and that cut it down to a hanful a week again
You will see guestbook and form spamming quite often in the
FP newsgroups. My best advice is to not use a guestbook. I
shut mine down
