Gutter position

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium and Office 2003. I have a
left-to-right document with 2 pages per sheet with the margins as follows:
Top=1", Bottom=.5", Outside=.25", Inside=.75", Gutter=.5"
The Gutter position box is grayed out with "inside" showing. Why is it
grayed out and how can i make it accessible?

I'm seeing the same thing, and in fact the gutter is actually shown in the
illustration as being on the *outside.* I can see why "Mirror margins" is
automatically enabled for "Book fold," but I don't think it logically should
be for "2 pages per sheet." And I do know that in "Book fold" the Inside and
Outside are reversed (a bug), so you have to assign them backward (which
would match the fact that the gutter is shown on the wrong side. I think you
just have to put it down to Word being pretty buggy in this whole area.
