Hammock task hijinks

Hi All,

I've read various tutorials on how to create a hammock task, and hav
tried doing so in the most simple fashion, but whenever I follow th
steps - and I'm certain they are correct - I end up with MSP refreshin
both dates to be the exact same date when I clearly have linked to th
first start and the last last date for the hammock task. I have n
predecessors and am not linking to summary dates. MSP refreshes th
dates a few times like it's in a calc loop or something, changing bot
the start and finish for the hammock task to the start, then change
both to the finish, then changes both back to the start. Any ideas??

Thanks,

Da

I tried to recreate the same sceniaro you are taking about:

1) Copy the start date of first driving task and do a Paste special
(link) on the start date of hammock task
2) Copy the finish date of last driving task and do a Paste special
(link) on the finish date of hammock task

When I change the duration of the driving tasks, or its predecessors,
Project updates the Start and Finish of hammock task correctly.

I am using Project 2003. Also, I observed the "Linked Fields" column
is set to Yes for the Hammock task.

Please let us know if you have followed the above steps, or there
differences.
