hammock task & lag time

I am setting up a hammock task and I need the start of it to begin 10 days
prior to the start date of it's predecessor. Is that possible to do with a
hammock task.

I could not find any help in faq#19 regarding this topic.

Thanks

You will need to set up milestones with the appropriate lags. Then, use the
milestone dates for your hammock.

Generally, I do not use negative lags. If a task is supposed to start 10
days prior to another task, then we do it the other way around:

Task A must start 10 days prior to the start (or complete of TaskB).
We make task A a 10 day task, or make it less with a positive lag to a
successor "B" perhaps using Finish to Finish.

Thanks but I think I am still confused. Basically I need Task A to start 10
days prior to the start of task B but end the same time as Task C. How would
I do that?

Three Tasks:
1 Task A
2 Task Milestone
3 Task B

Predecessor on task ID=2 (Task Milestone) is 3SS-10days

Hammock Task A (ID=1) is the Start Date of Task2 (Milestone) and the end the
end date of Task A is the end date of Task B (ID=3). It hammocks fine on
this machine.

This assumes TaskB will potentially be a variable duration.
