Hammock tasks start and finish dates are set inconsistantly

I have 2 tasks that span the period of time between 2 fixed date milestones.
I want to be able to adjust one or both of the milestone dates and still have
the 2 tasks cover the intervening time.

task 1 14 days? Tue 11/15/05 Mon 12/5/05
task 2 14 days? Tue 11/15/05 Fri 12/2/05
mileston1 0 days Tue 11/15/05 Tue 11/15/05
mileston2 0 days Mon 12/5/05 Mon 12/5/05

The results above happened. Is there a particular sequence that should be
followed or steps to take to ensure consistant assignment of finish date?

hi

Right click the start date of the first milestone and select copy

Right click the start date of the task that is being hammocked and select
paste special (select paste link)

Right click the start date of the second milestone and select copy

Right click the finish date of the task that is being hammocked and select
paste special (select paste link)

The hammocked task will now flex with the milestones

Thanks for the prompt response Chris, but the steps you articulated are
exaCTLY what I had followed which resulted in the 2 different finish dates as
indicated.

However I was able to syncronize the finish dates by closing the plan and
re-opening it, which refreshes the links so the dates are the same.

Is there a way to Paste Special Link into multiple tasks? I want to show
all of the detailed tasks that have to be done between the 2 milestones but
don't want to go thru getting estimates and dependencies for each task and
adjusting them every time a milestone date changes.

Thanks!...M
