Handheld Sync Installer not working

Hi there--

Attempting to switch from PC to Mac. I have already installed Palm
Desktop (which I'll never use) and Entourage (which I will use like
mad). However when I attempt to install the Handheld Sync Installer
from Msft, the installer passes the EULA and ReadME just fine but then
tells me "Microsoft Component Plugin" was not found.

In fact it is there--for version 11.3.5, the most recent update. I
called Sprint (Palm wants $25 to chat) and was at first told that I
needed the Value Pack that I would find on my Office 2004 disk, but
that doesn't seem to exist (I think that was an earlier iteration of
the program).

Anybody know what I have to do to get the Installer to recognize the
Microsoft Component Plugin that's already on the computer (a MacBook
Pro running OSX)?

Thanks for your help!

The one you are trying to install is for an older version of Office.
The newer version is included in Office 2004 here:

/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Additional Tools/
