handles for shapes

when placing mouse over shape, in visio 2007, the only thing it will let me
do is resize. I what to be able to move the end points or the middle of a
line. it lets me do that in visio 2003. what is the difference?

Perhaps, since this edit behavior should be the same for both 2003 and 2007.
But, a few more details about the shape might be helpful. Is it a Visio or
custom shape? Did you create it initially in 2003? Is it connected line
objects or more complex?

It is one of my own shapes and it was created in 2003, and it is a complex
drawing

OK. I can only offer some suggestions as I've not encountered this problem.
Hopefully, someone might have experienced this, but, in the mean time...

My feeling is that something became corrupt in the transition from 2003 to
2007.

A. If you draw a simple shape in 2007, can you confirm that it behave
properly with regards to the edit procedures you wish to use?

B. If you copy one shape from your original drawing, open a Visio drawing
in Ver 2007, and paste the shape. Does that restore the edit behavior?

C. If you add a new shape to your original drawing, does it maintain or
loss the edit behavior?

Hopefully, A and B work. That should allow you to copy your drawing and
then paste it into a new Visio 2007 drawing. I have no idea how or why your
file won't load up correctly, though.
