My user wants to enter phone numbers on a form, which
seems easy enough. I know that I can create a text control
that uses a phone number mask for validation...but that
isn't really what they are used to doing / want to do.
What they really want is just to type numbers into a a pre-
set phone entry field like (xxx) xxx-xxxx, where all they
have to do is type in the values for x. They don't want to
have to enter the special characters (, ), or -.
I have not found a way to get this done. I tried setting
up 3 fields, with the special characters merely
displayed...but they didn't like having to tab between the
fields.
We suggested changing their method to euro style -
xxx.xxx.xxxx, which can be entered using 10-key and
validated.
In reality, I guess it just seems to me that their request
is not that out of whack...but, unless I can figure out if
it can be done within infopath, they will just have to
live with one of the other methods...
Any insight / advice appreciated.
