Handling Project Delays

I'm working on a complex design/build construction project that require
owner review of multiple design packages prior to start of construction
The entire construction schedule is dependent on their review an
authorization to proceed. The original schedule included time for tha
review, but they are falling behind and can't/won't provide a projecte
remaining duration or completion date. Once they have completed thei
review, I can update the actual finish dates, but until that point
need a clean way to insert delays to to keep the rest of the schedul
from just slipping into the past. The best way I've come up with is t
use the leveling delay which then zeros out when I enter actual dates
Any ideas. thank

I would insert a milestone called Owner review finished and link it to all
review, re-quote and re-design tasks. I would then link all build tasks to
the milestone. If you don't have review tasks etc, simply set the date of
the review complete milestone. This is acceptable as it's a legitimate date
constraint for the project.

"we have the same situation occuring on our project. a simple/effective way
to show the delays also is to add a "delay task" and keep an allotted amount
of days to this task. This should assist on keeping track of the actual
arch/owner delays. and for even further "at a glance" we changed the bar
colors in the gnatt chart to a significant color and shade then just attached
its predicessors to the proper tasks."....please let me know if you have
found any other simple way, or a problem with our direction? thanks
