Handling protected word documents

Hi

I am automating word using VC++. The word process is invoked by a service
and submits documents to word and do some manupulation and closes the word
process. The problem is whenever a password protected document is given to
the word process it simply stalls the service. If I kill the word process
from the task manager, the service is not working or killed.

Any suggestions.
