handwriting recognition

I have just purchased a Wacom graphire 2 and I am using it with much success
converting handwriting into text in Word XP( I am running Windows XP) .When
handwriting recognition is enabled it markedly slows all computer
applications. Is there an easy way of switching handwriting recognition on
and off without having to go to the Regional and Languages options in the
Control Panel and making changes to the Language Bar. A simple desktop
click would be just great.
Any help will be much appreciated.
