Hang when inserting 'object'

My excel file always hang whenever I tried to insert 'object' (jpg, bmp) into
my file. This problem only occurs recently and I am wondering what's wrong
with my excel. Tried to use different files and even empty files, still hang
when using the insert 'object' function.

Anyone can help will be appreciated!

Someone might better be able to assist if they had any idea what version of
Excel you're using & which OS you're running it on.

Lacking those details, however, the only conceivable suggestion is to use
Insert> Picture> From File [actual wording may vary depending on version] to
insert images rather than Insert> Object. If using the proper method doesn't
work out better make sure to include version-specific information as well as
all pertinent details in your reply.

Based on the source of your post I'm guessing that you may be using a
Windows system - in which case you should know that you've landed in the
group for Excel on the Macintosh. If I'm right you'd do best to direct any
further concerns to the appropriate Windows group available from here:
