Hi everyone,
There are 2 computers on my network, 1 using Office xp and the other using
office 2003, which both hang when using word as the e-mail editor. At first
it would hang for both reply messages and new messages. Following the advice
on a workaround via a kb article involving extend.dat, outcmd.dat and
frmcache.dat, running detect and repair to replace these files after
renaming them. This stopped the hang from happening when they create a new
message, however it still hangs when trying to reply to a message. Reading
further, I saw that Office xp sp3 would fix this issue, however when I
applied the update on the computer running office xp, no change occurred...
it still hangs when replying to a message when word is selected to edit
e-mail messages. Any help on this issue would be appreciated.
PS. we are currently not using word as the e-mail editor, but only on a
temporary basis until the issue can be resolved. A picture file in our
company signatures gets attached as a full 4 mb file when word is not an
editor compared to a 10 kb file when word is selected.
