Hard Disk hidden files

Alan Bennett

Using Windows Explorer I have listed all the files on my C Drive and they
add up to 6.34 Gigabyte.

But when I go into my Computer and highlight the C Drive and click on
Properties it says I have used over 9 Gig. I just cannot find the other 3
gigabyte to either delete them or save if they are important. I have tried
disk clean up but it does not help.

Can anyone help please.

Hi,

First your in the wrong newsgroup this is for Microsoft
Access the program not to access hard drive space.

Second, when you save any file in Windows it uses a
minumum of 32k to save it. No matter how small the actual
files is. So the actual amount used vs free might not add
up correctly. Try this do a dir in a command prompt see
available bytes. Then go into notepad type hello save the
file see its size and then do a dir again. You will see
how much space each file takes.
