Hi,
I've checked the threads around here on retrieving the hard disk serial
number and followed some links till I got to a utility called diskid32 which
reads the serial number of the hard disk using different methods. It includes
the source code which I think is written in C or WMI (not sure really). I'm
neither adept with WMI nor C so I really can't translate the code to a usable
Access routine.
An alternative would be to run diskid32 in an Access shell and save the
screen output to file so I could process it. But I really prefer the code to
be integrated to Access for security reasons. I'll be using the info for copy
protection schemes.
Has anyone translated this utility to Access? Any other efficient method I
should consider?
Thanks in advance!
Jeff
