Hard Format a cell

S

Stephen

Hi,

Is there a way to hard format a cell with a font, etc., so
that if you copy into it a value from a different cell
with a different font, it will change to the font of the
cell that it is being copied into rather than the other
way around.

Thanks,

Stephen

There is a way to copy into a cell without overwriting the
formatting

Edit/Paste Special/Value (or Formula)

Not AFAIK

However, you could use Edit>Paste Special and just check Formulas and Values
plus anything more you like, but not Formats.
You could record this and put it under a button or shortcut key.

I should have also mentioned that there is a Paste Value
Icon available in the Customize menu under edit that will
eliminate the need to go into the Paste Special menu.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for all you help.

The Paste Special works. But on the Paste Special icon,
instead of the default being Paste "All" could I have the
default be, "Values and numbers formats?" One less click.

Thanks a lot,

Stephen
