Hard Return Word 2002

There are times when there is one hard return on the top of an extra page
and naturally when I print the document there is the extra blank page. If I
save the document the blank page naturally remains.
I have tried to remove the hard return so the extra page is gone. Can you
tell be how to remove that extra hard return?
