Hard to soft returns

I have a huge text file with hard returns at the end oif every line.
In the good old days WordPerfect was able to import a text file
converting likely HRts to SRts (i.e. at the end of long lines).
Is there any way to import a text file into Word and get the same
result?

Not AFAIK but you can do a search and replace after it is opened. as
Use "^l" for Soft Return and "^p" for Hard Return.

But I want intellegent searching - ie - HRT at the end of a paragrapg
(with an extra return after or not right on the right margin) should
reain as HRt but in a paragraph should be converted to Srt. This is
something that WordPerfect did on its own when importing a text file
if you set the option.
