harddrive reset

I have no way of getting back information on my harddrive to be able to format it, (its a long story), anyways I was wondering if most desktop computers have a reset button on the drive itself. I dont know much about working with the brains, but I do know how to work with the guts.I just dont know if I would be removing the drive for no reason, or if there was a button. Thanks

This is an MS-Access database newsgroup. You may find what you are looking
for in one of the UseNet hardware groups. Microsoft doesn't have any
hardware newsgroups which would pertain to harddrives.
