Hi,
Question:
I am doing PowerPoint automation. Is there any way to know whether the
'Hardware graphics acceleration' option in PowerPoint (Slide Show menu - Set
Up Show... - Performance frame) is currently ON or OFF?
Description:
I am aware that this setting is stored in the following registry location
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\PowerPoint\Options\SlideShowUseDirect3D
Hope i am right.
1. Opened PowerPoint - Switched off the 'Hardware graphics acceleration'
option.
2. Closed PowerPoint.
3. Opened PowerPoint. Checked the status of the 'Hardware graphics
acceleration' using the registry value. Result is correct (OFF).
4. Switched on the 'Hardware graphics acceleration'.
5. Read from the same registry value. Still the result is OFF.
Is there anyway that i can use so that by the step 5, i will get the right
result (ON)?
It looks like that PowerPoint does not update this registry until it is
closed. i.e if the user changes this - 'Hardware graphics acceleration'-
settings during his PowerPoint session we cannot get the correct information.
Thanking you,
San.
